PCI DSS - Core Principles and Requirements

The PCI DSS is a set of comprehensive requirements for enhancing payment data security. The standards are applicable to any organizations that transmit, process or store credit and debit card information with tiered levels of Validation Actions depending on the number of transactions processed each year.

The Standards were developed by PCI Security Standards Council to help facilitate the broad adoption of consistent data security measures on a global basis and includes requirements for security management, policies, procedures, network architecture, software design and other critical protective measures. This comprehensive standard is intended to help organizations proactively protect customer account and card data.
